Event Start on Saturday, September 6
- 100-mile start at 8:00 AM
- 50-mile start at 10:00 AM
The start will take place at the hotel level, in front of the Mesta restaurant. The finish line is in the same location.
Timing for the performance is via a chip attached to the event bib. The number must be affixed to the handlebars so that it is readable from the front. No participation is allowed without the bib!
At the start, everyone must ride over a plastic strip placed on the ground. So please, do not join the group later or from the side without crossing the start line.
The start will be led calmly by a pacer, in the spirit of a Grand Tour. The route will descend a relatively steep hill where racing is not yet allowed for safety reasons. After the downhill, we turn left at the Naava Nature Center intersection, continuing at a calm pace. After the parking area and after turning onto the trail base, you can accelerate to your desired speed.
Please be considerate of other participants and the shared joyful atmosphere, even in the excitement of acceleration. Overtaking can be done safely throughout the day!
Finish
The finish is located at the same place as the start, in front of the Mesta restaurant, next to the hotel. At the finish, water, chips, and delicious vegetable soup (vegan, gluten-free) made by local Neidon Sydän will be available.
If hunger pinches your stomach or your mouth feels dry, the food stalls at the finish area will serve up some tasty treats. From Neidon Sydän’s cart, you can get a burger; from Popolо, pizza; and from Mestа, cold drinks. Among other things.
Showers and saunas included in the registration fee are located in the basement of Hotel Pyhätunturi, accessed through the hotel reception. Saunas are warm from 1 PM to 20 PM on Saturday.
There is also an outdoor wash area for muddy bikes and riders.
The finish will close at 7 PM.
If you are still on the route at that time, please contact us at +358 44 990 2926, and we will ensure that everyone exits safely.
