Finland’s southernmost Fellscape
Fellscape Hanko opens the gravel season on Finland’s southernmost gravel roads. Expect fast gravel, the seaside, forests and routes you might never otherwise discover.
Choose a 25, 50 or 100 mile adventure and ride against the clock, with friends or entirely at your own pace. When all you see ahead is gravel, the sea and good company around you, you are at the heart of the Fellscape feeling.

Three distances – choose your adventure
25 miles
Your first Fellscape. A welcoming route of around 40 kilometres for anyone who wants to try a gravel event. You do not need years of racing experience – a suitable bike, a sense of adventure and the desire for a great day are enough.

50 miles
Everything essential in one package. Around 80 kilometres of fast gravel, seaside scenery and just the right amount of challenge. Ride hard, spend the day with friends or enjoy the route at your own pace.

100 miles
The full Fellscape experience. Around 160 kilometres of the finest gravel roads in Hanko and the surrounding region. It is a long day, but you do not need to be a racer or a long-distance expert. Prepare well, ride at your own pace, and 100 miles can be your next great Fellscape adventure.

A full Fellscape weekend
Friday – settle into the atmosphere
The Fellscape weekend begins at Silversand on Friday with:
- workshops and tips for ride day
- social rides in several pace groups
- a restaurant ride in Hanko – places are limited and details will follow
- a riders’ meeting covering Saturday’s key practical information
Saturday – ride day
All three distances take place on Saturday. The rides start from Hanko harbour, with the first kilometres led by a pace car through Hanko’s beautiful seaside boulevards and town centre. Then come the gravel roads, the coast and the adventure you have chosen.

Silversand – the home of Fellscape for the weekend
Camping Silversand is the event centre and becomes Fellscape’s own expo and meeting area for the weekend. Expect good food, hot saunas and tubs, and more Fellscape programme.
After Saturday’s rides, the evening continues at Silversand with food, recovery and a shared afterparty. You can stay in a cabin, tent or camper, and accommodation is worth booking early.

Aid stations you hope for – and a little more
Fellscape aid stations await along the routes: 1–2 on the 25-mile route, 3 on the 50-mile route and 4–5 on the 100-mile route. You will find energy, drinks, savoury and sweet food, and everything you hope to see during a long day in the saddle – probably a little more, too.

What bike and equipment do I need?
A gravel bike is the natural choice, but a cyclocross bike or a fast-rolling mountain bike will also work. The final tyre recommendation will be confirmed with the routes; generally at least 35 mm works, while 40 mm or more adds comfort and confidence. Tubeless tyres are recommended.
Bring at least a phone, a device suitable for navigation, a power bank, clothing for the weather and basic supplies for punctures and minor technical issues. The final mandatory equipment list will be published in the event instructions.
Getting to Hanko
Hanko is also accessible by train. Connections run from Helsinki, and from the direction of Turku you can change at Karjaa to the Hanko H train. Bicycles travel free of charge on commuter trains when space is available. A bicycle space must be booked in advance on long-distance trains.

Junior Fellscape on Sunday
The weekend atmosphere continues on Sunday with Junior Fellscape near Silversand. More information about the ride for children and families, along with the rest of Sunday’s programme, will be announced closer to the event.

Can I join if I have never ridden a gravel event before?
Yes. Hanko’s 25-mile route is designed as an accessible option and a great first Fellscape experience.
Is this a race?
Fellscape is a timed event and the fastest riders on each distance are rewarded. But the awards are not only about the front of the field: in true Fellscape style, we celebrate a wide range of great achievements and memorable stories from the day. You can chase a placing or ride entirely your own way.
How is the route navigated?
The routes will be marked and participants will also receive a GPX file. Detailed navigation instructions will be included in the event guide.
When will exact routes and schedules be published?
Detailed route information, elevation, GPX files and the minute-by-minute schedule will be published closer to the event. This page will be updated as details are confirmed.
Can I change distance or transfer my entry?

Can I bring my bike on the train?
Yes. Bikes travel free on commuter trains when space is available. Bicycle spaces on long-distance trains must be booked in advance.
